Terms of Service

By using Filoven - the website, the tools, or the API - you agree to these terms.

1. The service

Filoven provides file conversion and utility tools that run in your browser, plus a paid HTTP API that performs a subset of those conversions on our servers.

Free browser tools are provided as-is, with no uptime commitment. Paid API access is subject to the availability terms below.

2. Accounts

You need an account to use the API. You are responsible for keeping your credentials and API keys secret, and for everything done with them. Tell us promptly if a key is exposed so we can revoke it.

One account per person or organisation. Do not share keys with third parties or resell raw API access without our written agreement.

3. Acceptable use

Do not use Filoven to process material you have no right to process, to infringe copyright, or to handle content that is illegal where you or we operate.

Do not attempt to overload, probe, or circumvent the service: no bypassing rate limits or credit accounting, no automated scraping of the site beyond normal use, no attacking the infrastructure.

The API is rate limited. Persistent attempts to work around that limit are grounds for suspension without refund.

4. Your files and content

You keep all rights to the files you process. We claim no ownership over your content and no licence to it beyond what is technically required to perform the conversion you asked for.

You are responsible for keeping your own backups. Conversions are lossy or approximate for some formats, and you should verify output before relying on it.

5. Plans, credits, and billing

Subscriptions renew automatically at the interval shown at checkout until you cancel. Cancelling stops the next renewal and keeps your access until the end of the paid period.

API credits are prepaid and are consumed per request at the cost published for each endpoint. Credits are refunded automatically when a request fails on our side. Credits do not expire while your account is active and are not exchangeable for cash.

Prices may change; we will give notice before a change applies to an existing subscription. Taxes may be added depending on your location.

6. Refunds

If the service materially fails to work for you, contact us within 14 days of the charge and we will review a refund in good faith. Credits already consumed are not refundable.

7. Availability

We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Maintenance, third-party outages, and rate limits may interrupt access. We are not liable for losses caused by downtime.

8. Third-party processors

The service depends on third parties, including Supabase for authentication and storage, PayPal for payments, and an AI provider for OCR and transcription. Their availability and terms affect the parts of Filoven that use them.

9. Disclaimer and liability

The service is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the three months before the claim arose. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including lost data or lost profits.

10. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate an account that breaches these terms. You may close your account at any time. On termination, unused credits are forfeited unless the termination was our fault.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. Material changes will be reflected in the date at the top of this page, and continued use after that date means you accept them.

12. Contact

Questions about these terms: support@filoven.com, or through the contact form.
